Top Of The World Observation Level Schedule Fall 2008 Through Spring 2009

TOP OF THE WORLD OBSERVATION LEVEL ANNOUNCES

FALL THROUGH SPRING HOURS

Top of the World Observation Level has new hours for the fall through spring seasons.  Beginning Wednesday, September 3, the observation level is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 6pm until May 25, 2009.  Regular admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and military and $3 for children 3-12.  Group rates and advance ticket sales are also available.  Top of the World, a facility managed by Mayor Sheila Dixon and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts is located at 401 E. Pratt Street on the 27th floor of Baltimore’s World Trade Center.

Visitors can celebrate the legacy of jazz great Cab Calloway at the “Hi-De-Ho Zoot Suiter” exhibition that includes photographs from Calloway’s life and career as well as paintings by local artist Nathaniel Gibbs.  Sponsored by the BLEWS, Black/Jewish Forum of Baltimore, the exhibit is on display at the Top of the World Observation Level until September 28, 2008.  Each Saturday in August from 8pm to 10pm come and enjoy the sounds of local jazz artists and a wonderful view of the Inner Harbor as the sun sets at Saturday Sunsets at the Top jazz series.  Admission for this event is $10.  Beverages are available for purchase including a special Sunset martini.  Upcoming performers are Street Corner Symphony on August 16, the Dave Smith Project on August 23, and Tom Reyes & Lovecraft, closing out the jazz series, on August 30, 2008.

The Top of the World Observation Level offers an unparalleled view of Baltimore from the tallest pentagonal building in the world.  The attraction features floor to ceiling windows with a breathtaking bird’s eye view offering the perfect spot for a visiting tourist or resident to take in the entire city.  In addition, informative exhibits educate visitors about interesting landmarks in the city of Baltimore and its many historical and cultural neighborhoods.
