Preakness Parade of Lights on Friday, May 15 at 8:30pm

Enjoy entertaining local bands, equestrian units and illuminated floats at the Preakness Parade of Lights. On Friday, May 15 at 8:30pm, Preakness festivities will fill the streets of downtown Baltimore. Special guest Daniel Wilcox of the Baltimore Ravens will join grand marshal Stacy Keibler for the annual parade. This year the Preakness Parade of Lights takes place the night prior to the big race. The parade steps off on Pratt and Eutaw streets and continues east on Pratt Street to Market Place. Spectators can catch the best views of the parade near the reviewing stand located on the northwest corner of Pratt and Light streets. Preakness Parade of Lights is one of several events preparing Baltimore for the 134th annual running of the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 16, 2009. The Preakness Parade of Lights is presented by Mayor Sheila Dixon and produced by the Preakness Celebration, Inc. and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts. The parade showcases dynamic performances by regional bands, local cultural organizations and churches, floats and equestrian units. Some of this year’s participants include Miss Preakness Heather Radford, Anheuser-Busch World Famous Clydesdales, American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard, Batman & Robin, Bee Trail Cinderella, Blue Knights Drill Team, Fire Museum of Maryland, New Edition Marching Band, Pink Poodle Hair & Nail Salon, Shake and Bake Rollers and many more!
