OCTOBER BRINGS FUN AND FREE ARTS ACTIVITIES
FREE FALL BALTIMORE RETURNS ON OCTOBER 1 THROUGH 31
Mayor Sheila Dixon and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts present the fourth annual Free Fall Baltimore celebration on October 1 through October 31. The city-wide arts extravaganza offers visitors a an array of free creative arts events including dance and musical concerts, classes and hands-on projects, lectures, history and heritage tours and theatrical shows. More than 70 organizations have collaborated to provide residents and visitors free activities in venues throughout Baltimore City. Families that are looking for fun activities can visit some of the area’s top attractions for free. Hundreds of entertaining and educational events take place during the month of October. A project of Creative Baltimore Fund, the fall arts celebration is sponsored by media partners Maryland Public Television, WBAL-TV 11, WJZ-TV 13, WMAR-TV 2, WUTB-TV 24, Fox45/ CW Baltimore, The Baltimore Sun, City Paper, Urbanite, WYPR 88.1 FM, Radio One (92Q, Magic 95.9, Spirit 1400, WOLB 1010) and CITYpeek.com.
This year’s new participating organizations include Ballet Folklorico Mexico Vivo, Everyman Theater, Contemporary Arts, Inc., a jazz collaboration, and Dance Rink, which is a unique dance and theater experience. Returning favorites include the American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore Improv Group/The Collective, Baltimore Public Works’ Big Truck Day, Dance Baltimore, Hot Glass and Clay workshops, School 33 Art Center’s Open House Tour, Shriver Hall and Baltimore Symphony concerts, The Walters Art Museum and The Baltimore Museum of Art’s programs for children and much more.
Free Fall Baltimore is a promotional collaboration designed to make art and culture more accessible to area residents and visitors, while introducing young adults and families to a wide variety of cultural experiences.
