Sunday, November 23: Busiest Day for the Baltimore Farmers’ Market
The Baltimore Farmers’ Market is the best place to shop for the holidays! The Sunday before Thanksgiving marks the busiest day of the year for the market. On Sunday, November 23, visit the Baltimore Farmers’ Market for those extra special ingredients that make Thanksgiving deliciously wonderful or pick up a uniquely crafted gift that will make loved ones smile. Shoppers can purchase fresh produce, spices, pine garlands, sausages, chestnuts and other seasonal items at great prices. Everyone is encouraged to shop early that morning. Maryland’s largest producers-only market, located on Saratoga Street between Holiday and Gay streets under the Jones Falls Expressway, remains open every Sunday through December 21 from 8am to sell out, approximately noon. The Baltimore Farmers’ Market is presented by Mayor Sheila Dixon and produced by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts.
The Baltimore Farmers’ Market offers a variety of appetizing produce including apples, pears, cabbage, greens, herbs, potatoes, along with homemade breads and pastries, pork, and beef. Market visitors can browse the market’s vendors for ingredients for flavoring homemade stuffing, pies, cakes, stews and turkeys. In addition, shoppers can find holiday decorations including pumpkins, wreaths, mistletoe and poinsettias or one-of-a-kind jewelry and other crafted accessories, floral arrangements perfect for the dinning room table, original artwork and artistic clothing.
